Breaking Down Breaking Dawn: A Second By Second Analysis Of The Trailer For Part 2

What up, you Book Into Moive-lovin'  peeps out there. As you probably already know, the official trailer for Breaking Dawn Part 2 graced the interweb a few weeks ago. While i'm slow to the party, i'm finally here, y'all! So without further ado, it's time to analyze the shizz outta the newest Breaking Dawn trailer.
First, let's watch this masterpiece together. Then i'm gonna break it down for you with my thoughts on what is (mercifully) the final movie in this franchise! (Unless someone gets the bright idea that we need to form a tighter bond with that Bree Tanner chick. *throws self in front of bus to stop the madness*)
Let's do this shit!!!

0:01 seconds in- "After 18 years of being utterly ordinary, i finally found i could shine." i just had to completely change everything about myself first. Starting with my species. That sounds about right.

0:01-0:23 seconds in- Ok this is just the same shizz you tried to feed us in the teaser trailer. Give us some new stuff to look at, Twilight.

0:27 seconds in- Maggie Grace with her creepy ass vampire eyes would like to report that the Cullens have done something terrible. Yeah, we know, Maggie Grace. They named their daughter Renesmee. i mean, can you even fucking IMAGINE?!?! P.S. Maggie Grace, it might interest you to know that your stepbrother/former lover from Lost, Ian Somerhalder is a vampire now too! How 'bout a family reunion! The Salvatores are waaaaaay better than the Cullens. Trust me on this one. ;)

0:33 seconds in- Bella is now a sassy vampire. Or as sassy as someone who is constantly morose can be.

0:39 seconds in- Did Aro raid Neverland? Why does he look like he just stepped out of a Michael Jackson video? Or maybe that Gwen Stefani video? Is Aro now a Hollaback Girl? Is his shit bananas b-a-n-a-n-a-s!

0:44 seconds in- Lord Jesus! Alice sees some future that's so fucking crazy she actually Drops. A. Vase! Um, haven't you been psychic for like A Bajillion Years!?!?! Seems like things would stop being so surprising if that shock happened to you Every Goddamn Day.

0:50 seconds in- The Volturi are evidently coming all the way from Narnia to see Renesmee. Impressive.

0:54 seconds in- Oh good, the Cullens have recruited what appears to be the "Creepy Uncle Sector" of the vampire world.

0:55 seconds in- As well as some chicks that are hoping Pocahontas will be the next Disney movie to hit Broadway. Maybe they can teach Renesmee to paint with all the colors of the wind.

0:57 seconds in- Jacob the Baby Licker makes a joke about the freaky, stupid vampire eyes. Nice try, Jacob but i'm still Team Winchester.

0:58 seconds in- Ooh! Apparently this is gonna be "The Epic Finale." i guess that sounds better than what i would have put at the end. Which would've been "Hooray! It's Finally Over!"

0:59 seconds in- Hey look! Vampires can move water! With jazz hands! If a dance battle between the Cullens and the Volturi breaks out, it might just save this movie. Quick, someone get Channing Tatum to step it up!

1:02 minutes in- The Cullens and their peeps go all Hands Across America.

1:02-1:05 minutes in- Someone gets punched into a wall, people are flying through the trees, there are wolves also venturing out from Narnia. It's So. Fucking. EPIC!

1:06 minutes in- Bella's gonna go toe to toe with........ the Rhythm Nation? Seriously Aro, what the fuck are you wearing?

1:09 minutes in- Aw, Bella has a touching moment with her stupidly named daughter.

1:10-1:12 minutes in- Now let's all run at each other all fiercely and shit. It's like a game of Ultimate Red Rover. Red Rover, Red Rover send DEATH right over!

1:15 minutes in- November 16th, bitches! Are. You. READY!?!?

Well that's it, possibly the final trailer for a Twilight movie EVER. How are you guys feeling? Sad because you actually love the story? Relieved that it's finally over so you no longer have to watch Kristen Stewart's constipated face anymore? Ready for Catching Fire to hurry up and get made so as to wash the sour taste out of your mouth that Breaking Dawn is sure to leave? Feel free to share any and all comments you might have in the section below.

Let's Break Some Dawn And Catch Some Fire! (As Well As Other Books Into Movies News)

Greetings fellow book lovers! And fellow movie lovers! And fellow book-into-movie lovers!
i've got a few links concerning some of your fave books-into-movies projects that are fast approaching so let's get this thing started!

i'll start with all the Breaking Dawn hoopla that has been going down recently because of the sudden appearance of... wait of iiiiiiiiiit..... Renesmee! You know, that fictional vampire/human child that isn't AT ALL real?!?!? Well, to be so fictitious homegirl is suddenly all anyone can talk about. In fact, in case you didn't already know, this week she shares the cover of Entertainment Weekly with her parents and that baby-lover Jacob.

And if that wasn't enough, there's also this teeny tiny teaser trailer that just popped up for Twihards to lose their shizz all over!

GAH, i HATE those motherfucking eyes!!! Is anyone else kinda already sick of the whole Twilight thing? Is it just me? Are you kinda on pins and needles just for this thing to end already? i was so excited for the first Twilight movie to come out but then somewhere along the way i've really just completely lost interest. i blame most of this on Kristen Stewart's face. i mean, you're an actor. Your job is to fucking EMOTE! This is our fifth and final go round with you as Bella Swan so could you please pick another emotion other than your go-to. And by that i mean suicidal. i don't know if you realize this Kristen but for most of this franchise you look like you're always mere minutes away from sticking your head in an oven. i mean, Bella is now a vampire and if i felt like Kristen Stewart ALWAYS looks, i don't think i'd want to live forever. Even if it was with Cedric Diggory. i'm just saying, Kristen Stewart's face is kind of a cautionary tale for those that think immortality is the bees knees.
Anyhoozle, let's move on, shall we?

There's maybe, possibly, perhaps, finally some casting news for Catching Fire. Word around the internet is that Phillip Seymour Hoffman has been tapped to play Plutarch Heavensbee, the new head gamemaker taking over for Seneca Crane.

Check out this first look of The Host, the movie based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer which will be coming to a theater near you March 29th, 2013. i already knew it starred Saoirse Ronan who will be playing Melanie. But i didn't know that the role of Ian O'Shea would be played by Jake Abel. Who is kind of an old pro when it comes to books-into-movies. (He played in  Percy Jackson, I Am Number Four, and The Lovely Bones.) Oh and you might also remember him as the third (and least important) Winchester brother from Supernatural!

Libba Bray has a new book coming out this September called The Diviners and Paramount has already scooped up the movie rights. The description of the book sounds really interesting (New York! Pickpockets! The Occult!) so it could very well make a great movie too. Plus it helps that Libba Bray herself will be adapting the screenplay.

That's all the books-into-movies news i've got for you this time. So what do you guys think? Any movie that you're looking forward to? Any casting picks of your own for Catching Fire? Wanna rant a little about Kristen Stewart and her constantly constipated face ya damn self? Feel free to dish it all up in the comments section below.
(Oh and be sure to tell me what you think of that 13 second teaser trailer too.)

EvilEva's Trailer Park Presents: Books Into Movies Trailer Party

It seems like pretty much every movie coming to a theater near you is one of three things:
a.) a remake.
b.) a boardgame (?!) (Battleship! i mean, REALLY?!?!? WTF!?!?)
c.) a book/series.
Here at Nancy Drew Is My Homegirl, we're committed to that last choice. So here are a few trailers for movies that started out as books.

Stephenie Meyer is coming back to theaters with more of her creepy eye shit! Well not Stephenie Meyer personally but another one of her books is being turned into a movie and it will be coming to theaters with its creepy eye shit. Her non-Twilight related book, The Host is now being made into a movie. It stars Saoirse Ronan and it's supposed to be released March 29th 2013.

Abraham Lincoln is headed to theaters this summer with his hatred of vampires. Did you guys know that our 16th president totally used to be a vampire slayer? True story. Don't believe me? Just check out the trailer for the movie version of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It actually looks pretty badass. You better watch your back, Cullens. Starting June 22nd. ;)

It's been nearly a decade since the final Lord of the Rings movie came out. This December (the 14th to be exact) Peter Jackson will finally, FINALLY release the long awaited prequel, The Hobbit. Here's the trailer for it:

Ok so The Dark Knight Rises isn't technically based on a book but it is based on a comic book series so that's kinda the same thing. But i'm really just including it because i'm so super psyched to see it. It'll be Christopher Nolan's last time directing the franchise (so good luck to whoever has the balls to pick up the reins after his epic trilogy is over.)  It'll star the usual suspects Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman and it'll  feature newbies Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy. The final chapter in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy will be out in theaters July 20th.
P.S. Bane looks super cray cray.

The Raven isn't based on a book but a plethora of books. Sorta. It's a murder mystery starring John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe in which someone is killing people using methods from Poe's own stories. So of course the police need Poe's help in order to figure out whodunit. Although, based on the trailer, i think ive got this thing solved. It was Jigsaw. You can see if i'm right April 27th.

Here's the "extended" trailer for Breaking Dawn Part 2. And by "extended" i mean 20 more seconds than the last shitty trailer i posted for this movie. The only difference, you ask? Now Bella's a red-eyed Bambi killer. Amazing, right. (<---i really wish i had a sarcasm font.) Breaking Dawn Part 2 is, mercifully, the final movie in the Twilight saga and will be in theaters starting November 16th.

And lastly here's the trailer for Bel Ami which is apparently based on a novel by the same name that was written by someone named Guy de Maupassant. i had never heard of this book before but based on the trailer it's about "a penniless soldier" played by Robert Pattinson "in a world he doesn't know" aka Paris where "his charm will open doors and steal hearts"  and also allow him entrance into the pantaloons of Uma Thurman, Kristen Scott-Thomas and Christina Ricci. So it's basically Robert Pattinson being very un-Edward Cullen-like and sexing it up with ladies young and old in Paris because he's a poor man whore trying to make a buck. So kinda like the Parisian Pretty Woman. Except it's a man. So the Parisian Pretty Man, i guess.
Anyhoo, check out the trailer and then the movie on June 8th if Parisian Pretty Man sounds up your ally.

i hope y'all enjoyed my little trailer park party. Now i wanna know which movies you're dying to see.

Dish it up in the comments section below and tell me all about it! :)

A Little Bit Of Book Into Movie (And Music!) News

So i guess i'll start with the news that everyone will be super jazzed to hear. Even though i'm quite sure that you guys know by now and thus this is in fact not really news at all. But anyway for those few readers of this blog that also happen to live under a rock, you know like my mole people fans, it turns out that Breaking Dawn Part 1 will be out on DVD February 11th! (P.S. Why does Kristen Stewart look so morose and suicidal on EVERY Twilight movie cover? Cheer up, bitch.)
Shockingly, i, much like the mole people, haven't seen it yet. (i know, i've been a very bad Twihard.) But i will be buying it this Saturday. i won't however be one of the cray's going out at midnight just so i can score a fucking flower prop. That's not how Evil Eva rolls.

Here's something new, how about a little Books Into Music News! Taylor Swift will be premiering her music video for "Safe and Sound" from The Hunger Games soundtrack on MTV Monday the 13th. The soundtrack itself will be available March 20th.
Here's a still from the video. Looks a little more Twilighty than Hunger Gamey to me.

Someone has finally been cast in the movie version of Beautiful Creatures (the book series written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.) And that someone is Viola Davis. She'll be taking on the role of Amma.
i read the first book in this series and wasn't really a fan. (Check out my review of it here) i can't even remember who Amma is. So i'm not about to shit my pants with anticipation for this one but depending on who else is cast and how the trailer turns out, i might head to the theater to see it.

That's all the Books Into Movies (and Music!) News i've got for you now. What do you guys think of all this? Do you think Viola is a good choice for Beautiful Creatures? Do you think Taylor Swift's video will encompass the spirit of The Hunger Games. Will you be waiting in line at midnight just to get a Breaking Dawn prop flower? Dish that shizz in the comments section below.

Yet Another Breaking Dawn Trailer (Now With Indepth Analysis!)

Yep. Another Breaking Dawn trailer has hit the interweb. i thought it'd be fun if, this time, i did a full-on indepth analysis of this shizz! Ready? Lets break it down!
Here is this week's trailer

0:11 seconds in---The Cullens and their horrible dye jobs are here for the party! There are also several other people behind them which i find odd since Bella only has like 5 friends and all Edward's friends are related to him and thus are in the front row already. Which begs the question: who the hell are all these people?!

0:16 seconds in---Bella and Charlie get ready to walk down the aisle. Bella looks nervous. Or constipated. i can't really tell which cos it's the constant state of Kristen Stewart's face.

0:25 seconds in---Vow voiceovers!

0:32 seconds in---Edward in a tux! Twihards around the globe swoon their pants off. Meanwhile i can't get over those stupid contacts they make Robert Pattinson wear. i HATE them! Like anyone actually gives a shit if his eyes are actually golden. i for one would rather Edward have NORMAL eyes than go by the book and have him look creepy as all get out and perhaps on the verge of glaucoma.

0:43 seconds in---Jacob has to remind Bella that she's all alive and shit. Pack it in, buddy. She just got married. To someone else. You lost. Now go ogle a baby.

0:49 seconds in---Aw shit, it's honeymoon time, y'all! Get ready to cash in your V card!

0:58 seconds in---Bella has to get her wits about her cos shit's about to go down!

1 minute and 1 second in---Bed-breaking sex!

1 minute and 4 seconds in---Rest in peace, expensive feather pillows.

1 minute and 5 seconds in---Edward tells Bella "last night was the best night of my existence." That seems a little melodramatic. Plus i'd be willing to bet Bella wasn't that good.

1 minute and 8 seconds in---Lets make out under a waterfall!

1 minute and 13 seconds in---It's all waterfall kisses and ripped pillows until someone gets knocked up.

1 minute and 18 seconds in---Either Bella's baby kicked (which is totes ridick since she looks like she hasn't enjoyed a meal since the first Twilight) or she's contracted a serious case of Montezuma's Revenge. Hey, she could have easily swallowed some of that waterfall water.

1 minute and 21 seconds in---Edward hates babies.

1 minute and 24 seconds in---Hey we haven't shown any trees lately have we?

1 minute and 26 seconds in---Carlyle's all "the fetus is incompatible with your body." Yeah maybe that's because she looks like she swallowed a Tic Tac NOT like she's got a baby person growing all up in her. (Also, Carlyle looks like he tried, unsuccessfully, to dye his hair circa Angela Chase. Not a good look for him.)

1 minute 29 seconds in---Yay! Bella finally looks like she's actually pregnant!

1 minute 34 seconds in---Jacob also hates babies. (For now. *wink wink*) (Eww. i creeped myself out with that one.)

1 minute 35 seconds in---Alice can't see Bella's future. Can you see the way to a Super Cuts? The whole Cullen clan needs to road trip it to one STAT.

1 minute 40 seconds in---Werewolves, in general, hate babies too. They hate babies so much that they like to hang at the beach and plot a baby's demise.

1 minute 46 seconds in---Who let the dogs out! Who who who who!!! (i apologize for that one hit wonder moment.) (i also apologize for getting that song stuck in your head.)

1 minute 53 seconds in---Edward gets all stern and aggressive with his hatred for babies.

2 minutes in---Jacob tells his wolf bros "if you kill her, you kill me." Werewolves also hate ultimatums.

And then the next 10 seconds are all Cullens fighting wolves, vamps jumping through the woods, Charlie having a sad, wolf on wolf violence, then......

2 minutes 13 seconds in---Bella faints and it's time to deliver baby! Or vamp baby!

2 minutes 20 seconds in---Edward looks like "oh balls! am i gonna have to chew through this umbilical cord?!? Blech!"

2 minutes 26 seconds in---Did we mention you can see all this vampy, wolfy, baby fun beginning November 18th?

And that's it. So what did you guys think? It's kinda the same six scenes they've shown in past trailers just in a different order. But whatevs. This is the first time i've been even semi-excited by the prospect of seeing this movie so i guess this new trailer Jumble is working.
Anyhoo, i'm dying to know what y'all thought. Sock it to me in the comments section!

Books Into Movies Linky-Dink-O-Rama

So you may remember that previously in a Miscellaneous File i told y'all about this new Diablo Cody/Jason Reitman flick  starring Charlize Theron in which she plays a YA writer. Which is cool cos when have you ever seen a movie about a YA writer? But it could be bad too cos from the little info that i've found she apparently doesn't have her shit together and her life is somewhat of a big fat mess. So not necessarily giving our peeps the respect they deserve it seems. Anyhoosies, the new news is that the poster for said movie is now floating around the blogosphere and if you haven't seen it yet, here it is:

i gotta say, i really dig this poster. It reminds me of the old 80s/90stastic covers of yesteryear. You could easily envision that drunk mess blonde as one of the Wakefield twins (probably Jessica) so i thought that was pretty clever. (Plus y'all know that Diablo Cody is supposed to maybe, possibly make a Sweet Valley movie, right? This poster seems like maybe one has inspired the other.) So now we have the poster, which looks pretty cool, but still no trailer. Lets reserve our judgment for the day when we can see actual moving pictures, kay?

Twihards, prepare to lose ya damn minds! Here is the latest clip from Breaking Dawn:

In it we see a more preggers Kristen Stewart. (It appears, much like the Lolcats, Bella can has cheezburger. FiNALLY!) Plus Carlisle's hair has gone from horrid to complete shitballs. Which is bad, in case you didn't realize. i don't know about y'all but for some reason the more Twilight movies they make the less excited i get about them. i don't know what's wrong with me. Do any of you guys feel this way? i'm wondering if i'm the only slight hater out there. Hmm.

Have you ever wondered what your district would be if you lived in Panem? Well wonder no more cos now the Capitol has a website you can join! You have to have an account on either Twitter or Facebook in order to participate. You can bet your sweet ass muscles that this chick joined. i'm in District 8, the textiles district. Not much has happened so far. i'm hoping we'll get like exclusive movie info or photos or SOMETHING cool since it's affiliated with the movie. So far nada.

Lauren Oliver's book, Before I Fall has been optioned for movie-making! Here's a link with a little information but i don't think they've made any of the big decisions yet like who will play Sam. i'll keep you posted as soon as i get more deets about this one.

And lastly, Disney Channel has acquired the rights to two YA novels that they'll be making into movies soon. First, is Shrinking Violet by Danielle Joseph which i've heard will be changed to Radio Rebel and will star Debby Ryan. And the second movie is Geek Charming based on the book of the same name by Robin Palmer and will star Sarah Hyland.

That's the news for now. If you've found any Books Into Movies news that i've missed and that you'd like to share, drop me a line in the comments section and tell me all about it!

You Are Cordially Invited To Watch The Trailer For Breaking Dawn Part 1

Behold, y'all: the trailer for Breaking Dawn!

So it looks a little more action packed than i remember Breaking Dawn actually being so maybe it'll be good?
i just don't know, y'all. To tell you the truth i haven't been that huge a fan of the movies. For one thing, i can't stand Kristen Stewart. She always looks like she's two seconds away from slitting her own wrists.
On the other hand though, i do like Robert Pattinson and i'm always in the mood for looking at great abs.
i figure since i'm on the fence then maybe some of you guys are too. So lets do what we do best! It's list time! i will now write down the pros and cons for Breaking Dawn after viewing the trailer. We'll start on a positive note:

PROS:
*Sexy times.
*Broken bed sex. Which i guess would count as sexy times. So i guess we should only count that as one pro.
*Shirtless hotties.
*Vampire babies. That's something new, right?
*There looks to be some kind of rumble.
*This will be the second to last movie.

CONS:
*Kristen Stewart's suicidal face for, i'm sure, nearly 2 hours.
*As impressive as they are, it's kind of sad that awesome abs are all Taylor Lautner brings to the table.
*How totes tacky to address a wedding invitation to "Resident."
*i've had food babies bigger than Kristen Stewart's tum tum. i've got one right now brought on by too much cookie cake as a matter of fact.
*Lest we forget that Jacob is gonna fall in love with a baby. Eww!
*The Cullens bad dye jobs. It's your son/brother's wedding, y'all! Get some Clariol and get to work.

So we're tied. Wait. No we're not. Pro #2 doesn't count because it's basically the same as pro #1. So the cons have it. Which means? What?
Ok well that didn't really help me at all.
Lets get real a sec, ok. i'm totally gonna see this movie because i've seen 1-3 and i'm no quitter! However, my inane devotion doesn't guarantee that Breaking Dawn will be worth a shit. Guess i'll just have to wait til November 18th and see if all this vamp on virgin bed breaking sex- baby making- abs o' steel hoopla is actually worth it.

What do you guys think of the trailer? Excited for the fourth installment or had enough of the whole franchise? Dish your shizz any way you like in the comments!

The Books Into Movies Trifecta: Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Twilight News

It's official y'all. Elizabeth Banks nabbed the role of Effie. What do you think about that? i'm kinda on the fence with this decision. i like her alright but i was really hoping it would go to Kristin Chenoweth. i think she'd make the perfect Effie.

In even more Hunger Games movie news, two more Tributes have been cast. The Tributes for District 4 will be Ethan Jamieson and Tara Macken. So far most of the Tribs have been relative unknowns. i want to know who they'll cast as Foxface. And of course you know my ongoing obsession with whoever will play Haymitch. i've also been wondering who they'll get to play the evil President Snow. i haven't heard any names being thrown around for that role. It's been awhile since i read the first book, does President Snow make an appearance in The Hunger Games or am i thinking about Catching Fire.  Just gives me a good excuse to reread them! :)

Entertainment Weekly just revealed some photos from the set of Breaking Dawn. Bella and Edward win the cover of the mag yet again this week. i flipped through them. i don't know. i'm not as excited for this movie as i am for the final Harry Potter and the much anticipated Hunger Games. This one i feel like, "Well i've seen the first three so i might as well bring it on home." Anyone else out there feeling kinda burnt out on the whole Twilight franchise?
P.S. That pic of Jacob shirtless running through what looks like a sprinkler is so ridiculous.

And finally, here is the trailer for the final installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. *bawls eyes out* Y'all, this is it. The last little bit of Harry. No more books. No more movies. *rolls around on floor in pathetic fangirl heap* It ends July 15th. Are you ready?
