The Game Of Thrones Drinking Game

Recently I not only got into Game of Thrones, I got ALL UP INTO Game of Thrones!  I marathoned the entire series thus far which consists of 3 complete seasons and a half of a season.
All in all I consumed 36 episodes in a little under a week.  (And that's all while also watching my regularly scheduled programs.)  So, yeah, I became slightly obsessed.
So, of course, I totally had to make a drinking game for my latest obsession!  Thus:

The Game of Thrones Drinking Game

This one goes out to all my homies.

Take a shot of your drink of choice whenever any of the following happens......

*A main character dies. (Take another shot if it was someone you actually liked.)
*Boobs!
*This just in: "Winter is coming."
*Daenerys says "my dragons."
*Someone makes fun of Tyrion's stature.
*Someone makes fun of Brienne's stature.
*You want to punch Joffrey in the face.
*Anytime Jon Snow "knows nothing."
*Bran has that goddamn 3-eyed raven dream.
*Hodor says "Hodor."
*Sword fight!
*Prostitute sighting!
*Someone refers to Jon Show as a "bastard."
*Someone refers to Daenerys as "Khaleesi."
*Someone refers to Jaime as "Kingslayer."
*Arya recites her shit list.
*Jorah gets friend-zoned.
*Someone loses a body part.
*Someone takes a drink.
*"A Lannister always pays his debt."

Brace yourselves a hangover is coming, so, as always, drink responsibly.

All The Books-Into-Movies News I've Been Neglecting

Alright.  I know what you're probably thinking: where the hell have you been!?!?  ALL OF THE THINGS have been happening!!!  YA Books-Into-Movies news has been BLOWING UP and you're nowhere to be found!!!!
I know.  I know, you guys.  I've been a VERY bad book nerd and an even worse blogger.
So let's forgive me and get all caught up, kay?

So, because so much has happened lately (and because I've been so damn neglectful,) I decided that what this post really needs is some categorization!  I'll be breaking these trailers down into three separate categories.
I'll start with the tearjerkers.  Or as they'll be known henceforth:

The Weepies:

I imagine that all of you have seen this one already as it has been viewed OVER 17 MILLION TIMES!  But in case you missed it, here is the trailer for the much-talked-about, uber-hyped The Fault in Our Stars.  Check it:

Are the tears flowing yet?  If that sob-fest of a trailer wasn't enough for you, be sure to check out this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly because it's dominated by the stars, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.  (I gotta admit, the photos of the two are pretty darn adorbs.)

I've also gotta admit that while I'm excited to see this movie, my excitement has basically nothing to do with either of these kids.  I'm in it for the Sam Merlotte

and the Birbigs!

The movie will be hitting theaters next month.  June 6th, to be exact.  So you've got plenty of time to pick out your opening day outfit!  This shirt from Hot Topic is my current fave.  Or you can show love for your book boyfriend with this one from My Tee Spot.  Or maybe this simple little number from Barnes and Noble is more your style.

And if you thought TFIOS was the only Weepie headed your way, you were very, very wrong.  Another life-obliteratingly sad YA book has recently been made into a movie and will be making its way to a theater near you (and making you openly weep at said theater) August 22nd.  I'm talking about Gayle Forman's beautifully written masterpiece, If I Stay
Break out the tissues while you check out the trailer:

It's been sooooo long since I read this book that I've more or less forgotten most of the specifics, but what I DO remember is that I LOVED it!  It immediately put Gayle Forman on my insta-buy author list.  And just watching the trailer makes me want to go back and read it all over again!

And speaking of Chloe Grace Moretz, not only will she be playing Mia in If I Stay, she'll also be kicking ass and taking names as Cassie in the film adaptation of Rick Yancey's The 5th Wave!  I'm excited yet terrified that they decided to make this book into a movie.  I loved the book and can't wait to read the sequel (The Infinite Sea!  Out September 16th!  Dammit! That's too far away!) so I'm really hoping they don't fuck this one up.  Ya hear me, Sony Pictures!?

Ok, let's move on to our second category:

The Dystopias:

Because it's like, a law now that all YA dystopian novels MUST be made into movies.  It's called "The Hunger Games Effect."

Anyhoozle, the first trailer is for The Maze Runner, a dystopian series by James Dashner.  I've got this book TBR-ing on my bookshelf right now, so I haven't actually read it yet but, I gotta admit, the trailer has my interest piqued.  I'll have to read it soon because the movie hits theaters September 19th and a true book nerd ALWAYS reads the book FIRST!

Next up is the trailer for The Giver, a Newbery Medal Award winning book all the way from the 90s written by Lois Lowry.  The movie doesn't come out until August 15th but already people are getting super pissy about it.
This is another book I haven't read yet so I'm, personally, not all up in arms but other people are having all kinds of shit fits all over the internet about this movie for one reason or another.  After giving their IMDb page a gander, the only things I see wrong with the movie so far are:
A.  It has Katie Holmes in it.  And, let's be honest, homegirl hasn't been the same since Tom Cruise abducted her.
and B.  It has Taylor Swift in it.  And, let's be honest, her pie-eyed, gee-golly-willikers, bullshit REALLY gets on my nerves.
So I don't know about this one.  Give it a view and tell me what you think:

Our final category might be the best!  And by best I of course mean the worst!  That's right! It's time for:

The Batshittery:

If you follow me on Twitter, you already know that I absolutely LOVED Lifetime's version of that completely bonkers, incest-filled mess, Flowers in the Attic!  Well The Baby Jesus has answered all of our prayers and the kooks over at Lifetime are making the sequel, Petals on the Wind!  Here is the first trailer to this insanity:

Heather Graham is back!  And she's brought her crazy eyes!  Hooray!
Petals on the Wind will premiere on Lifetime Monday, May 26th at 9 pm.  Just want to make sure you've got all the information.  If it's anything like the first one, you won't want to miss it!  And come hell or high water, I will be live-tweeting the shit out of it!  So follow me on Twitter @girlsleuth and we can snark like the best of friends!
P.S. Please, please, PLEASE check out the Petals on the Wind photo gallery on Lifetime's website in which Heather Graham gives you so very much crazy, 70s chic fierceness!
Here is a mere morsel:

Well, I feel like we got a lot done today, y'all.  Do you feel sufficiently caught up?  I know I do!  But, as you know, there's new Books-Into-Movies dirt to dish almost everyday.  So check back here soon!

Now I'll turn it over to you guys.  Hit me up in the comments section and tell me which movies you're most excited to see!

Divergent & Veronica Mars Lookie-Loos! Plus A Visit To Middle Earth & Wonderland!

Hola my lil' bloggermuffins! i know, it's been awhile since i posted anything. That's my bad. i've been supes busy and i unfortunately haven't had a lot of time to blog (Or read. Boo, you whore!) And it seems in my Internetal absence A LOT of Books-Into-Movies/TV news has been a-swirlin'! But fear not, for i have Favorited it all and now i will Cut & Paste the shizz out of it here for your enjoyment!
So let's play a game of catch-up, shall we?

Not too long ago, I shared the first look pic of the Divergent movie. Well now there are even more pics to squee/swoon/have sads over!
Behold Tris' first moments at the Dauntless compound:

And here's our first for reals look at Theo James as Four:

So? What do you guys think? Do these stills (from EW, obvs.) make you excited to see the Divergent universe come to life? Or are you still grumbling over certain casting decisions?

While we're on the topic of first looks, get ready to lose ya damn mind... it's the very first sneak peek at the Veronica Mars movie!!!!!!
*loses damn mind*
V. Mars herself, Miss Kristen Bell tweeted a pic of her first day on set!

(Is that a Veronica Mars Trapper Keeper!?!?! I want a Veronica Mars Trapper Keeper!!!!)
And if that wasn't exciting enough, a whole slew of Neptune's finest have been confirmed for parts and/or cameos in the movie! Here's the video-graphic proof from Enrico Colantoni (aka Keith Mars,) Percy Daggs III (aka Wallace Fennel,) Chris Lowell (aka Piz,) Francis Capra (aka Weevil,) Daran Norris (aka Cliff McCormack,) and Ryan Hansen (aka Dick Casablancas.)
And word around the girls bathroom is that these peeps are also a go for the movie version (just no video confirmation.):
Tina Majorino will reprise her role as Mac. (Yay!) Krysten Ritter will be back as Gia Goodman. Brandon Hillock will once again don his mustache and uniform as Deputy Sacks. Amanda Noret is back for her role as total bitchface Madison Sinclair. And Jonathan Chesner is on board as Corny.
Plus there are a lot of "rumored" appearances from the likes of Parker, Leo, Troy, and one of my personal faves Vinnie Van Lowe!
So get psyched, Marshmallows!!!

In amazeballs news for LotR fans, the trailer for the sequel to The Hobbit, The Desolation  of Smaug, was recently unleashed on the fandom. i haven't seen the first movie yet but this one looks pretty awesome.

Like i said, the trailer looks awesome. What some people might take away from it is: "hey, it's Legolas!" or maybe "ooh, cool dragon!"
My very first thought, however, was: "wait. wait a second. is that? is that... Lee Pace?!?!?"

And imdb was all like "yeah, girl. he's playing Thranduil." And then i totally lost my shit!
i'll end this post with a new fall show that i'm already super excited about! It's a kinda sorta spin-off of ABC's Once Upon A Time, which i don't watch but my mom is totally obsessed with. It's called Wonderland and centers around the character Alice, obviously. It looks really cool and the graphics look pretty phenom. Check it out:

It's set for Thursdays this fall which could conflict with my Vampire Diaries habit. But there's always online watching. Or hell, maybe this will be the year that this homegirl finally gets a damn DVR and all her TV obsessions will be a simple record button away. (Like in olden times when i had a VCR!)

That's all i've got for you now. So now it's your turn. Head downtown to the comments section and deliver all your rants and raves!

Dystopian Books-Into-Movies News That Is A Go And A No (Plus Find Out Who Will Play Augustus Waters!)

There's been quite a bit of Books-Into news floating about the Internets while I've been M.I.Bloggy.A lately. But I'm back, bloggerbabies! So let's get right to this business!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it seems our Ricky-centric (ok, ok MY Ricky-centric) freak out may have been for naught. What I mean is, the Delirium pilot was not picked up by Fox. Which, if I'm being honest, I'm kinda happy about because now I won't have to witness that toolbox Ricky from Secret Life playing my sweet Alex. On the other hand, I'm a little bummed because this project could have been really awesome what with Emma Roberts (my homegirl!) attached to it. But, alas, it was not meant to be.
Although, if you were really looking forward to the project and have a dogged determination AND a Twitter account, you can search Twitter for peeps lobbying to get the show up picked up by another network and join in the crusade.

Cursed with a similar fate, The Selection won't be making it's way to the CW either. If you remember, a pilot had already been filmed once and was passed over. It then got a complete redo with a completely different cast. But, this pilot, once again, wasn't picked up.
I guess maybe networks are scared that dystopians have been doing so well that they're bound to be on their way out pretty soon much like the witches of the 90s and the vampires of the 00s. Maybe their lifespan just seems better suited for movie trilogies.

A show that totally IS happening is The Originals! The spinoff of the CW's The Vampire Diaries is set to premiere this fall! You can check out the back-door pilot (and totally squeal over that part where Klaus leaves a message for Caroline!) here. (But it's only for a limited time so hurry and watch, k?)

Now, here's the big movie news of the week, kiddos. The One Who Would Be Augustus Waters has finally been revealed! And the part goes to......
Ansel Elgort!
I thought the name sounded kind of familiar and then it dawned on me why. He's the actor that will play Caleb Prior in the film adaptation of Divergent. So he'll be in two really big Books-Into -Movies. One in which he'll play Shailene Woodley's brother and the other he'll be playing her lover. That's..... weird. But congrats, Ansel (even though this is starting to get into some V.C. Andrews type of weird territory.)

Speaking of Divergent, a while back Entertainment Weekly gave us a first look at the movie.
Behold the knife-throwing scene:

I'm still totally NOT into Shailene Woodley playing Tris but this is a pretty cool still to share right out of the gate. So, well played, EW.

And in even MORE Divergent news, the title and the cover art for Veronica Roth's third and final book in this series was recently released! It will be called Allegiant and will hit stores October 22nd. And I'm too friggin' excited! Like, Jessica Spano on caffeine pills excited!

I'll end this post with two new trailers. The first is the international trailer for The Mortal Instruments. This one seems a little more in-depth than previous trailers, plus it includes a sneak peek at baddie Valentine!
City of Bones will be in theaters August 23rd.

The other trailer is for Judy Blume's Tiger Eyes. Surprisingly, this is the first of Judy's many books to ever be turned into a movie. I've never read this one but based on the trailer, it looks pretty emo. It's all death-talk and pill-popping and crying-jags, hospitals, the desert, and what I'm just assuming is a dead father story.
It stars Willa Holland from Arrow and, unless my eyes are deceiving me, the Pink Power Ranger. Huh.
Anyway, you can catch Tiger Eyes in theaters starting June 7th.

Well guys, I think we are sufficiently caught up with our Books-Into news. But, as you well know, new shizz is being reported EVERYDAY.
So I'll try to stay super vigilant with the latest.
Now I'll turn it over to your rants, raves, comments, and concerns. Leave 'em in the section below.

Delirium Casting, Total Books Into Movies And TV News Overload, Plus The Veronica Mars Movie!!!

Hey there, bloggermuffins. i'm back with even more Books Into Movies and TV news. And a lot of the news i've got to share has to do with casting decisions. So let's get down to business so we can then rant and rave about said decisions. Because, trust me, i've got quite a few rants to make, y'all. And also quite a few raves! (Veronica Mars movie!!! Ahhh!!! i'm soooo excited!!!)

Let's kick it off with Delirium:
You know, for a project that seems to have taken foooooorevvvvver to come together, Delirium has suddenly been tossing out names left and right. Awhile back i told you that Emma Roberts was chosen to play Lena. Which i'm not mad at one little bit because i love Emma Roberts! She's a great actress and i think she'll do a phenom job at capturing both Lena's naivity and her strength.
Recently a few more names were named. Some i'm ok with. Others? Well, we'll come to that in a minute.

Billy Campbell has been cast as Thomas Fineman. Whenever i think of Billy Campbell (which, admittedly, isn't often) i always think of that movie Enough (which is pretty much the ONLY Jennifer Lopez movie that i actually like.) If you haven't seen it, Billy Campbell plays a total dick in it. i mean, at first he's nice and charming. That's why Jennifer Lopez falls for him. But then he turns into an abusive douchebag. So JLo takes their adorable daughter and high tails it outta there. But, being a complete dick, Billy Campbell follows her and they have this huge fight at the end where JLo kicks his ass because while she's been hiding from him, she's also been training and taking karate classes and shit. Long story short, JLo totally kills Billy Campbell.
Anyhoo, my point (and yes i did have one) is that Billy Campbell can play a very convincing villain. i also think that his stint on The Killing as Darren Richmond will help him channel Mr. Fineman's political side. So, in other words, i'm good with this decision.

And speaking of the Finemans, an actor has also been cast in the role of Julian Fineman. And that actor is Gregg Sulkin. Some of you might know him as Lil Fitz, Ezra's younger brother Wes on Pretty Little Liars. Since i'm not a Julian girl, i don't really care one way or the other about this casting decision. It's fine, i guess. Unlike SOME decisions. (We're just not there yet. But soon, my pretties, soon!)

The role of Lena's bestie, Hana, has been snagged by Jeanine Mason. i had no idea who this chick was but then i checked imdb and found out that she plays the new girl, Cozette, on Bunheads and she was also on So You Think You Can Dance. So she's evidently more dancer than actor but we'll see how she does with Hana.

A role that i didn't even know was part of the Delirium universe, that of a Senator Hargrove, has been assigned to Michael Michele. i guess this is supposed to be in place of Mayor Hargrove who we don't even meet until Requiem and even then we don't really meet him. So i don't know why they've changed the character from a Mayor to a Senator or why they've made him into a woman (yeah, don't let the first name fool ya. Michael Michele is a chick) but i guess we'll just have to wait and see what this character is all about.

And now, yes, NOW, for the big steaming pile of casting BULLSHIT!
Daren Kagasoff will play Alex. That's right, friends! Ricky from fucking Secret Life of the American Teenager and his Dylan McKay hair will play my sweet, beloved Alex. This is SUCH BULLSHIT!!! SUCH COMPLETE BULLSHIT!!! UGH! i can't believe this! Of ALL the actors they could have picked, why oh why did it have to be Ricky from fucking Secret Life of the American Teenager and his motherfucking Dylan McKay hair?!?!? WHY?!?!? Ugh, isn't it BAD ENOUGH that Amy from fucking Secret Life of the American motherfucking Teenager is gonna play Tris in the Divergent movie?! Now they have to cast fucking RICKY as my sweet, sweet Alex in Delirium?!?!
Needless to say, i totes DON'T approve of this decision. :*(

Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Ok, i could literally complain about this forever so let's just go ahead and move on, guys.
Since i just mentioned Divergent, let's discuss some of the casting choices there.
We already know that stupid fucking Amy from stupid fucking Secret Life nabbed the role of Tris. And we also already know how i feel about that. But three more actors have been added to the roster.
Zoe Kravitz, daughter of Cinna, will play Christina. Ansel Elgort has been cast as Tris' big bro Caleb. And Maggie Q will play Tori. i'm really excited that Maggie Q is on board and i like her as Tori. Nikita is one of my fave shows and i think if anyone is totes Dauntless it's Maggie Q!

We've talked a lot (or it feels like a lot anyway) about the shuffling around of The Selection TV project. Well it seems like now the whole thing is getting recast. i thought that perhaps Aimee Teegarden's role as America Singer was safe but apparently not. Homegirl has been replaced by someone i don't know named Yael Grobglas.
The role of Prince Maxon has also been recast. It goes to an actor by the (pretty awesome) name Michael Malarkey. i've never heard of him either. But based on his pic on the Hollywood Crush link, he's seems pretty hot, so kudos there, CW.
The final piece to the love triangle, the role of Aspen Leger will be played by Lucien Laviscount an actor i totally don't know as opposed to William Moseley who originally won the role and whom i totally do know from all the Narnia films.
A king and a queen have also been cast. The role of Queen Amberly will be played by Louise Lombard. Never heard of her.
And the role of King Clarkson goes to, get this you guys, GILES!!! From Buffy the Vampire Slayer!!! Yeah! Anthony Head!!! This news is supremely awesome and i totally approve! Now all i have to do is actually READ this book so i'll know if any of these actors are actually right for these roles. Yep, i still haven't read The Selection yet. i guess i should probably get on that. Especially if this new version winds up getting the green light.

And lastly, the Best News EVER!!! The loooooooooong awaited Veronica Mars movie is finally a go, people!!! i'm sure by now you've all heard the news. How Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas (creator/producer of Veronica Mars NOT the lead singer of Matchbox 20) asked the rabid VM fans for help through donations to the tune of $2 million.  And how in mere hours after the call went out, 09ers and PChers alike dug deep and came up with the cash! And how now the Veronica Mars movie is officially on like Donkey Kong!!!! It's so damn exciting!!! Now check out the vid from Kickstarter and weep with fangirlish tears o' joy! :)

If you'd like to help make the dream a reality, head over to the Kickstarter website where you can donate any amount of dough you'd like. (Last i checked it was already at over $3 million!) But get it in while ya can because the funding will close April 12th.

i think that's about all the excitement (FINALLY a Veronica Mars movie!!!!!!) and the disappointment (Noooooooooo! Ricky from Secret Life! Whhhhhhhhhy?!?!?) i can take in one blog post.
Now i wanna know what you guys think. Give me your rants, raves and everything in between in the comments section!

Austenland Clips! A Vampire Diaries Spinoff! And Even More Books Into Movies And TV News!

It's been a hot minute since i shared any Books Into Movies and TV news with y'all but i've been storing it all up like a crazed squirrel and now i'm ready to unload these lil' nuts!

First up, and perhaps most exciting (IF they get it right, that is. Although i won't even mind if they don't get it completely right as long as they don't get it so very very WRONG. Know what i mean?) i've got not one but TWO clips from the film adaptation of Shannon Hale's Austenland! It stars Keri Russell, Jane Seymour, and the always hilarious Jennifer Coolidge!
Here's clip numero uno in which Jane Seymour looks like Mother Goose but acts like a real mutha:

And the second clip in which Keri Russell looks more Holly Hobbie than Lizzie Bennet but bitch sure can shoot:

Mmkay, is it just me or does the dude (who, i'm guessing is supposed to be Mr. Nobley)that speaks at the very beginning of this clip sound exactly like Snape? And i gotta admit, i kinda like it. :)
Ok, so what do you guys think based on these two clips? Still looking forward to it? A little disappointed? Just ready for an actual trailer already? Let me know by heading on down to the comments and telling me what ya think.

In super intriguing Vampire Diaries news, there are rumors out there that a spinoff might be in the works! A spinoff focused on The Originals! As i said, this is super, super intriguing news, y'all. i mean, even more Klaus!?!? Yes, please!
However, i don't see how they're going to incorporate Phoebe Tonkin, aka Hailey the Annoying Werewolf Girl, into the show as it is rumored that she's already been cast. i'd actually rather see my girl crush Candice Accola in the spinoff. They haven't really been utilizing homegirl's talents lately on TVD so if she headed on down to New Orleans with Klaus, i wouldn't be mad about it. Just think of all the horsey pics Klaus could draw for her! :)
We'll get a lil' taste of this business during the April 25th episode of The Vampire Diaries which is being referred to as a "back-door pilot" for The Originals spinoff. So be sure to watch out for that.

Just glancing at it, it looks like it says Thank You For Your Horsey!
Ha!

You might already be aware that Gayle Forman's a-mah-zing YA novel If I Stay is being made into a movie. But did you know that a leading lady has finally been chosen to play Mia? And that leading lady is.......
Chloe Moretz!!! Yes, y'all! HitGirl!!!! i'm all for this decision because i think Chloe is super talented especially to be so damn young.
Now, for the big question though: Who should play Adam? Any suggestions? Let me hear 'em. i suck at casting peeps so i don't know who i want to play him. Just someone hot, yet age appropriate enough for Ms. Moretz. :)

Lauren Oliver's Delirium trilogy might be headed for the small screen. Yes. That's right. The SMALL screen. NOT the big screen. So Delirium is currently (and slowly, evidently) being made into a TV show for the Fox network. i don't exactly know how that's gonna work. i mean, there are only 3 books in this series. And one of them isn't even out yet. (Only 22 days until Requiem!!! *squeeeeeeeeees*) So with such a lack of material, i don't know how they're gonna squeeze more than a few seasons out of this story. But i know nothing of the TV writing process so who am i to say. i just hope that whoever is handling things will do so in a manner that all rabid Delirium fans such as myself will approve of.
And it seems, to me anyway, that they're on the road to doing it right. Because, this just in....... Emma Roberts has snagged the role of Lena Haloway! i heart Emma so hard. i mean, homegirl played MY homegirl Nancy Drew. And did a bang up job doing so to boot! Plus it's a known fact that Emma is a totes YA fan. So this pick is a-ok in my opinion. What do you guys think? And who do you think should play Alex? Again, i nominate someone hot. i don't know who but i do know that they'll have to be hot. And soulful. And sweet. But mostly hot. ;)

Not too, too long ago we dished about the prospect of a TV version of The Selection by Kiera Cass headed to the CW. Well, it didn't. But it might be getting a second chance. There's been talk of a revamping. Apparently the show will still star Aimee Teegarden as America Singer but Ethan Peck and William Moseley might not be so lucky. Their characters might get recast. No definitive word as of yet though. i'll keep you posted if any new news on this one pops up.

And lastly, in how-did-i-not-know-this news, the ever popular novel by Markus Zusak (that i STILL haven't read) The Book Thief is being made into a movie. An actress by the name Sophie Nelisse will be playing the role of Liesel Meminger while Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson play her foster parents.

That's all the Books Into TV and Movies news for now. So what do y'all think? Is there a particular Bookish Project that you're super ridiculously excited about? Are you a master caster that knows the perfect guys that should play Adam in If I Stay and Alex in Delirium?
Dish it up in the comments and tell me what ya think.

Books Into Movies And TV News: Lightning Round!

So recently i took a gander at my Favorites tab and noticed that i've favorited a butt ton of Books Into Movies and TV news that i haven't shared with you guys yet. Now i'm gonna super unload on y'all! So buckle up and let's do this thang!

Catching Fire Movie News:
*The role of Mags has been cast. It goes to Lynn Cohen who you might remember as Magda on Sex in the City. i actually like this casting decision. What do you guys think?
*Enobaria will be played by Meta Golding. i've never seen her in anything so i don't know about this one.
*Enobaria's District 2 counterpart, Brutus, will be played by Bruno Gunn. Never heard of him either.
*Hey, someone i actually recognize has been cast! Alan Ritchson (or as i know him: that guy that played Aquaman in those few episodes of Smallville) snagged the role of Gloss.
*Also from District 1, the role of Cashmere goes to Stephanie Leigh Schlund.
*The role of Chaff is now off the table. E. Roger Mitchell landed the role of one of District 11's victors.
*And finally, perhaps the BIGGEST Catching Fire news: Finnick has been cast. It seems the rumors were true and he'll be played by Sam Clafin. Thoughts? Feelings? i just don't know about this one. To me, Finnick's casting is to Catching Fire as Peeta's casting was to The Hunger Games: i.e. Super Ass Important. And i've never seen this Sam Clafin in anything. And, well, just think about how that whole Peeta (and Gale) thing turned out. i think Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth did ok but i don't think they were the perfect people for the job. And this Sam Clafin character, just isn't who i was expecting. i was really pulling for Ian Somerhalder. How awesome would that have been? Damon Salvatore as Finnick Odair? Although i think he's a little too old for the part, i still think it would've been pretty amazing!

Wouldn't you rather have Damon Salvatore?

Mortal Instruments Movie News:

*According to Cassandra Clare herself, Kevin Zegers has won the role of Alec Lightwood, Isabel's bro and Jace's bestie.
*Here's a two-fer: The part of Madame Dorothea goes to CCH Pounder, while Aidan Turner takes on the role of Luke Garroway.
*Brother Jeremiah of the Silent Brothers has been cast. This creepy role will be played by Stephen R. Hart.
*Apparently Jonathan Rhys Meyers is in talks to play series baddie, Valentine.

The Vampire Diaries TV News:

*Elena, Stefan and Damon confess about compulsion.
*Tyler talks taking on Klaus in Season 4.
*Amy from The Nine Lives of Chloe King (or Grace Phipps as she's actually known) will be playing the role of a girl named April that has some sort of connection with the Gilbert kids.
*Phoebe Tonkin (aka Faye from that shit bucket of a show The Secret Circle) will also be joining the cast this season as Hayley, a girl from Tyler's past.
*Check out the season 4 promo which is mostly bits from season 3's finale and like 2 seconds of the new season but it's still very exciting!

Now i wanna know what you guys think. Are you liking these casting decisions so far? Is Sam Clafin your number one choice? If not, who would be your ideal Finnick? Are you excited about the Mortal Instruments movie? Who do you think would make a kick ass guest appearance on Vampire Diaries? Chat it up in the comments section and tell me what ya think.

Evil Eva Welcomes Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Watson And Nina Dobrev To The Trailer Park!

Hey y'all and welcome to another installment of EvilEva's Trailer Park! i've got scads of new Books Into Movies and TV news to dish with ya so let's get this thang started!

There has been some very buzzy buzz about this movie. As a book nerd, i'm only slightly ashamed to admit that i've never read The Great Gatsby. i know. It's all so very shocking. Please don't revoke my membership to The Book Nerds Association Of America (which should really be a thing.) Anyway, if you're done judging me, let me give you some of the deets. The movie is directed by Baz Luhrmann, whom you'll probably recall directed Moulin Rouge (which i hated) and Romeo and Juliet (which i LOVED) and who also really wants you to wear sunscreen. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Toby Maguire. You can catch it in theaters Christmas day. And in 3D to boot! Although, based on the trailer, i don't know what there is to marvel at 3 dimensionally. Except for maybe Leonardo DiCaprio sweating profusely. But it's nice to know you have the option, i guess. ;)

Another super buzzy movie that has a lot of peeps talking is The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Unlike The Great Gatsby, i actually read this one once upon a time. Although i will admit that it's been a while and i don't quite remember the plot of the book. i do remember not really liking it though. Maybe i'll have to give it a reread before seeing the movie which comes out September 14th. The movie is written and directed by Stephen Chbosky who also wrote the book. It stars Logan Lerman and Paul Rudd. And it also stars Hermione Granger and Elena Gilbert! Or as they're actually known: Emma Watson and Nina Dobrev! Check out the trailer and tell me what you think:

Sorry this video is so massive compared to the others. It was the only one i could find that i could actually embed. Anyhoo, i already love Patrick! What did you think of the trailer? It looks pretty good to me. i might seriously have to give the book a second chance. ;)

And now for a little linky-dinkage:
*Pics from the set of the Beautiful Creatures movie.
*Hailee Steinfeld a contender for the role of Min Green in the screen adaptation of Daniel Handler's Why We Broke Up.
*Casting choices for Catching Fire hottie Finnick Odair reportedly down to Taylor Kitsch, Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund. Ok, y'all have got to dish with me about this one because i'm dying to know who you guys think should totes nab this role. So comment away, y'all!

Get ready, bitches. It's starting again.   -A
Ha! Just kidding. It's just me. But it is that time again where we celebrate the return of our fave guilty pleasure. i'm talking about Pretty Little Liars, of course! Season 3 is going down this Tuesday (the 5th) at 8pm. Here's a little sneak peek:

And now for some TV news that i find exciting but that didn't start out in book form.
First, i'm gonna go ahead and sell myself out here and admit that i'm kinda looking forward to that new ABCFamily show, Bunheads. One thing the show already has going for it is it's about ballet which i find endlessly fascinating. Another thing? It's executive produced by Amy Sherman Palladino, the creator of Gilmore Girls which i loved until that whole Logan Huntzberger bullshizz happened. And thirdly, it stars Kelly Bishop aka Emily Gilmore in a role that sounds somewhat like a Miss Patty. And playing her son is none other than Alan Ruck aka Cameron Freakin' Frye of Ferris Bueller's Day Off fame! The show premieres on ABCFamily Monday June 11th at 9pm. Here's a little preview:

And lastly but certainly not leastly, Awkward is FINALLY back, y'all!!! That's right, all the fun, hilarity, made up words and well, awkwardness of teenage life is back for a second season starting Thursday June 28th at 10:30pm on MTV! Who will Jenna pick? i can't wait to find out! Here's a very short promo to enjoy:

This series was so amazingly great last year. It was so witty and fresh and hilarious. If you didn't check it out then you simply MUST check it out now. It's for reals a great show. You should totally be watching it. And, in advance, like Sadie would say, you're welcome.

That's all the news i've got for you. Now tell me what you guys think. Are you more excited for a Gatsby or a Wallflower? Who do you want to be your Finnick? With A in the loony bin, what dramz do you think the little liars will get in to this season? Are you Team Matty or Team Jake? Dish it all out in the comments section and let me know what you're thinking.

Who Will Direct Catching Fire And Other Books Into Movies Linky-Dinkage

*Yes we're all super sad that Gary Ross is stepping down from finishing off the directing duties of The Hunger Games franchise but lets mourn that shit and get over it because Catching Fire has a director! And it isssssssssss..... Francis Lawrence, the director of such movies as I Am Legend and Water For Elephants. So we'll just have to wait and see how he does. What i'll be even more interested in is when the casting decisions kick off. Who do you think should play Finnick and Johanna?

*There's been a new edition to the Beautiful Creatures cast. Kyle Gallner (aka Beaver, or, excuse me, Cassidy from Veronica Mars) will play the role of Larkin. Still not quite sure how i feel about this book as a movie. What do you guys think?

*The zombie love story, Warm Bodies written by Isaac Marion, will be headed to the big screen soon. i don't know too much about the casting choices yet but i do have two names. Nicholas Hoult will star as R and James Franco's little bro, Dave will also appear in the movie. Don't know who he'll be playing though.

*Disney has acquired the rights to tell the tale of The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. As a movie, this might just be awesome. We'll have to wait and see. No news about who might star in the film yet.

The peeps over at Palomar Pictures scooped up the movie rights to Julie Kagawa's vampire dystopian novel, The Immortal Rules before the book was even officially released last month. i haven't read it yet but i do love me a good dystpoian and adding vampires to the mix seems like an interesting choice.

The creator of the saucy, sexy Sookie Stackhouse series (also known as True Blood by TV fans) Charlaine Harris might have another series heading to the small screen. The Harper Connelly mystery series may be coming to SyFy going by the name Grave Sight. i don't have any stars for you yet but this is some news i'll be sure to keep my eye on. (i'm a Truebie, duh!)

Lionsgate has hired screenwriter Charlie Kaufman to adapt The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness into a movie. This could be pretty amazing. i wonder who will win the roles of Todd and Viola. Got any ideas? Tell me about it in the comments.

This summer Greg Heffley & Co. are back for a third time in Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days. Looks like more silly summer fun. Check out the trailer:

Lastly, let's all get super hyped about new Pretty Little Liars!!! The amazingly soapy show will be back with its summer premiere starting June 5th. Now that A has been captured, what do you think is gonna go down? Can the girls possibly stay out of trouble this season? Yeah, i don't think so either. But i can't wait to see what kind of dramz our fave little liars get mixed up in next!

Aw. Pour one out for this crazy lil' nugget.
That's all the scoop i've got for you now. But be sure to check back soon cos i'm always finding new Books Into Movies (and TV) news to blog about!

Quick-Fire Linky-Dinkage: Books Into TV And Movies News And J.K. Rowling's New Book News

*Let's get to the biggest, most exciting, newsest news of all first:
Information about J.K. Rowling's new non-Harry Potter book has FINALLY been released!!!
We already knew it would be a book for adults but now we've been given the title, a little information on the premise and the release date!
The title will be The Casual Vacancy and it'll be a mystery. Maybe even a murder mystery.  The book is set to be released September 27th! Here's the actual link if you wanna check out all the info. And here's a little snippet to help you fangirl it up even more:

When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock.

Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.

Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils...Pagford is not what it first seems.

And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?

Blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising, The Casual Vacancy is J.K. Rowling’s first novel for adults.

The above from Little Brown's website.

*Aw Sookie Sookie now! True Blood season 4 is coming to DVD! Relive (or, uh, live for the first time if you're, like me, too broke to afford HBO) all the madness of crazy witch Marnie, puppy dog Eric, rapey ass were-panthers and the ever yumminess of Alcide! Season 4 will be out May 29th.

*The Mortal Instruments movie got a release date. The movie will be in theaters August 23rd, 2013.

*There's been a change in the lineup for the Beautiful Creatures movie. Jack O' Connell, who was previously tapped to play Ethan Wate, is being replaced "due to scheduling conflicts." An actor by the name of Alden Ehrenreich will be taking up the role.

* The movie rights to Lauren Oliver's book Before I Fall were swooped up a loooooong time ago but this just in: now the project has a director. It's been reported that Gina Prince-Blythwood (who directed The Secret Life Of Bees. Which was a really good movie.) is in negotiations to direct Lauren Oliver's debut novel/debut book into movie.

*Here's our first little looksie at AnnaSophia Robb as Lil' Carrie Bradshaw. What do y'all think? Is she Carrie enough? She does look semi-bag-lady-that's-been-struck-by-lightning. Which is so very Carrie! So this little project just might work. i personally haven't read the series the show is based on (The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell) so i know shit-all about the concept other than it's Carrie before she moved to New York and when she was merely Carrie Bradshaw as opposed to Carrie Bradshaw. So if any of my blogger buddies out there wanna school me on the haps with this series, please do so in the comments section below.
While we're still on The Carrie Diaries subject, two more peeps have been added to the cast. Chloe Bridges will star as Carrie's nemesis, the incredibly stupidly named, Donna Ladonna. While Austin Butler will play the role of Sebastian Kydd, resident hottie and Carrie's crush.

*And lastly, here's a new trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman. In this one Kristen Stewart actually speaks, which, mercifully, wasn't the case in the last trailer that i posted for this movie. She has a shitty Britty accent. Which is kind of odd since she's (allegedly) dating a Brit. She should be used to accidentally slipping into a British accent simply because she's (allegedly) boning a British dude. You know, like Madonna.
Anyhoo, K Stew aside, the movie also stars a scary ass Charlize Theron as the evil queen and the giant-headed Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman. It'll be at a theater near you starting June 1st.
Based on the trailer, it looks like it could have some potential. The graphics are pretty amazing. Although it does make me wonder, if they can make Charlize disintegrate into a murder of crows couldn't they do something about Kristen Stewart's perma-constipated face? It seems like that would be an easier challenge of the two. :)

That's all the news i've got for you. Now it's your turn to tell me what you think.
How excited are you for brand spankin' new Rowling? Who do you think should play Sam in Before I Fall? Are you gonna check out The Carrie Diaries or just stick to Sex And The City reruns? Does Chris Hemsworth's abnormally large head befuddle you?
Tell me all about it in the comments section.

Books Into Movies And Books Into TV News (Plus i Reveal A's True Identity!)

What up, y'all? i've got even more Books Into Movies and TV news for you. Plus two new clips from The Hunger Games! Only 3 more days, y'all! *squeals with Peeta-lovin' delight*

More casting news for the Beautiful Creatures movie. Jeremy Irons nabbed the role of Macon Ravenwood. Do you think this movie will be anywhere near as anticipated as The Hunger Games is now? i just don't know about this one, guys.

Get ready to crap your pants, Twihards! Because here is 15 seconds of Breaking Dawn Part 2 which won't be in theaters until November 16th. But rumor has it you can see a full trailer when you catch The Hunger Games movie this weekend! In the meantime, enjoy this little tidbit (if you can. i mean, it's really short.)

Speaking of The Hunger Games, here's the link to yet another clip from the movie! In this one Katniss is saying her goodbyes to Gale before she gets shipped off to the Capital.

And here's a clip featuring an evil meeting of the minds between President Snow and Seneca Crane.

i am so beyond ready for this movie!!!!!
BTW, you can prep yourself for the arena with the soundtrack which came out today and which i'm currently listening to! :)

And now for a little Books Into TV news:
Someone has been cast as the rival against Prince Maxon for America Singer's affection in the CW's The Selection. And that someone is William Moseley who will play Aspen, our heroine's "impoverished blond paramour."  William Moseley is no slouch when it comes to the whole "Books Into" thang. He played Peter Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia movies.
i have to admit, i'm getting kind of excited about this series. So far it's got a pretty decent cast, plus the premise sounds really interesting. i really wanna read the book too. It's written by Keira Cass and will hit shelves April 24th.

Lastly, i've got Pretty Little Liars news, A has FINALLY been revealed! And it was kinda lame. i mean, seriously, i was really disappointed. If you didn't see Pretty Little Liars last night and would like to know who the hell A turned out to be, stick around cos i'm about to drop that knowledge on yo ass. If you don't wanna know, then you've officially been Spoiler Alerted.

Spoiler Alert!

Here's the big ol' secret: A is......... wait for iiiiiiiiiiiit........... Mona!
Yeah, just like in the books. Very anticlimactic considering they've been kinda forcing her down our throats majorly the past few episodes, you know what i mean? There were several episodes at the beginning of the season where Mona was pretty much absent and then the last like 5 episodes it was Mona Mania. So that was a little disappointing. But those Pretty Little Liars, they're a tricky bunch because, yes, we did finally discover A's identity but now we've got all these other questions. Like what was up with Jenna and Lucas and that person in the black swan dress that may or may not have been Melissa? And was that really Maya's body? And did anyone else think that Aria looked like Wednesday Addams by the end of the episode?
Well, all these questions will hopefully be answered next season which starts sometime this summer.

Not quite Wednesday Addams here.
So that's all the Books Into Movies and TV news i've got for you today. Come back soon when i'll undoubtedly be fangirling the fuck out over finally seeing The Hunger Games!!!

More Hunger Games Movie News As Well As Books Into TV News, Books Into Movie News And Just Plain Ol' Book News

i'll start with the fangirliest news of all:
The cast of The Hunger Games is on this week's (March 9th) issue of Entertainment Weekly!!! There are plenty of new pics including one of Woody Harrelson FINALLY looking suitably Haymitch-drunky as well as a fantabulous new Effie outfit!!! Plus there's a ten-page spread giving you the deets on everything from the soundtrack to what's being left out *cough* Madge *cough*
Also here's a little clip from the movie!!! Which comes out so very soon!!! (March 23rd to be exactly exact!!!) It's one of my favorite moments of Katniss' badassery from the book.

On an unrelated-to-The-Hunger-Games topic, there's also an interview with John Green in the same Entertainment Weekly issue. He talks about his new book (The Fault in Our Stars,) about Vlogbrothers, and what he might write about next.

This is kind of old news but still totally worth sharing, J.K. Rowling will FINALLY write another book,y'all! There's not too much info out yet, in fact, all that we do know is this book will be aimed for adult readers and it'll be very different from the Harry Potter series.
We'll get more information later in the year according to Little, Brown (who will be publishing the book as well as making an assload of money off of it) like what we can expect plot-wise and when the book should be hitting the shelves. So i'll definitely keep you posted. Who else is excited as hell about this news?!

Awhile back i told you guys that The Carrie Diaries was gonna be made into a TV show for the CW. Well we now have our Lil' Carrie Bradshaw. She'll be played by Annasophia Robb who is no stranger to the "Books Into ..." world as she's starred in Bridge to Terabithia, Soul Surfer and the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But no one remembers the chick that played Violet Beauregarde, EVERYONE knows that Sarah Jessica Parker IS Carrie Bradshaw. So Annasophia has some mighty big (not to mention super stylish) shoes to fill. Will she be able to deliver?
i haven't read The Carrie Diaries so i don't really know what to expect from this show except for the fact that it takes place in the 80s. Which could be awesome or very, very tragic. i might give the show a chance but i'm not on pins and needles for its premiere. What about you guys? Have you read the books? Are you looking forward to the show or do you think it's something better left to the grownups?

i've got more Beautiful Creatures casting news for ya. Like i've said before, this isn't really one of the Books Into Movies that i'm particularly jazzed about but i know that the books are popular and deserve spazzing about for some people so it is for these people that i deliver this news. Emmy Rossum has been cast as Ridley who is a character that i barely even remember. So i don't know if this is a good casting choice or not. If you're fangirling about this book series being made into a movie, please tell me what you think about Emmy in this role.

Lastly i've got some Books Into TV news about a book that hasn't even come out yet. It's called The Selection by Kiera Cass. The book doesn't hit stores until April 24th but the rights to the show have already been picked up by the CW. The premise sounds like a dystopian fairy tale version of The Bachelor.
Ethan Peck will star as Prince Maxon aka the dystopian fairy tale Bachelor. Aimee Teegarden will play America Singer, one of the 35 contestants (?) competing for the prince's heart. And Sean Patrick Thomas will also star on the show as an advisor/etiquette coach who apparently doesn't have a name yet. i always think of SPT from back in the day when he starred in Save The Last Dance. If he adds "dance instructor" to his title i might just watch the shit outta this show!

Sean Patrick Thomas: teaching white girls to dance since 2001.
Watching that clip made me remember how good that soundtrack was. Y'all remember K-Ci and JoJo? My favorite was You Can Do It by Ice Cube though. Remember that one? "You can do it put your back into it." Now try to NOT have that stuck in your head for the rest of the day. :)
